David Arquette, who had been sober for over two years, admitted that he has gone back to drinking and smoking weed.

Arquette, who was previously married to Courteney Cox, spoke on The Howard Stern Show via telephone Monday and spoke about falling off the wagon, reports E! News. “My problem with being honest with you and talking to you is that people are going to take all this and just be cruel with it,” the Scream actor told Stern, his longtime friend.

“The whole game of life, I got it. It's called the kindness game and kindness is the new currency,” Arquette, 41, added. “Love is the new currency. People are so cruel to each other throughout the world, everyone is always, like, trying to get over on someone else. And it's really about being kinder.”
When asked if he’d been using marijuana again, he said he is. “Yeah, I'll smoke a little weed. I don't really want to get into all that, because the problem is people are going to take this and start talking about it,” he said. “I'd been sober for two years and four months and feeling that I wasn't being that true to myself, like what I enjoy and this and that.”

According to Us Weekly, Arquette admitted that he’d been partying hard, too and is back to heavy drinking.

“I've been drinking a lot because I'm heartbroken,” he explained. “It's really a personal, traumatic thing.”

Arquette spent nearly a month in rehab in 2011 just months after he and Cox split. They are the parents of Coco, who is now 9.

“Everybody's getting along and understanding,” he told Stern Monday. “We're practicing what I'm talking about, we're being kind and loving to each other.”
