David Cassidy, the former teen idol star of The Partridge Family, has been charged with drunk driving in upstate New York.

According to The Albany Times Union, the ‘70s heartthrob was arrested by an officer named Tom Jones. District Attorney Richard McNally said that when Jones identified himself, Cassidy replied, “What's up, pussy cat?” in reference to the famous song by the singer Tom Jones.

TMZ, which published Cassidy’s mugshot, reports that Jones stopped Cassidy when he noticed him driving with his high beams. The officer smelled alcohol and had him take a sobriety test, which he failed. Authorities say that he allegedly had a .10 blood alcohol level.

Cassidy was charged with a felony DWI because of his prior DUI conviction in Florida. He served a year of probation and turned over his license for six months after pleading guilty to the charge in February 2011.

Cassidy was released on $2,500 bail and is due back in court on Sept. 4. The 63-year-old spends his summers in Upstate New York, visiting the Saratoga Race Course. He spends the rest of the year in Fort Lauderdale.
