Dick Van Dyke's Jaguar went up in flames while he was driving on a Los Angeles highway Monday afternoon.

According to the Daily News, his car suffered from engine trouble and burst into flames while he was driving.

The Mary Poppins star was able to evacuate his car with little help and was uninjured. He is even caught on video standing and talking immediately after the accident occurred.

His car, however, is not so fine. His burnt car had to be towed when they finally extinguished the fire.

“It just started making a noise,” Van Dyke told TMZ. “I thought I had a flat at first, then it started smoking, then it burned to a crisp.”

Jason Pennington, the actor's hero, was the first man on the scene to help out. Other helpers luckily stopped as well, including a fireman, a nurse and a police officer.

Pennington was able to open the door as flames engulfed the engine and pull Van Dyke out to safety, reports TMZ.

Van Dyke's wife is ecstatic that her husband is safe and uninjured, tweeting about the incident, saying “He's fine thank God!”
