Famous boxing promoter Don King turns 82 today. King is known for his association with boxing greats Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Born in Cleveland, Ohio this Leo is a father to three and grandfather of five.
Responsible for the famous “Rumble in the Jungle” in Africa’s Zaire between Muhammad Ali and George Forman, King has orchestrated many well-known fights.
King is very much so affiliated in politics, and is associated with the Republican Party. He has endorsed such presidents as George W Bush.
King has been referenced in films like Rocky V and television shows like South Park. The film Don King: Only in America is a biographical film that mirrors the ups and downs of his life. It includes his many bouts with the law, his short stint as a music producer, and his rise as a controversial fight promoter.
Unfortunately, King is now a widower his wife Henrietta passed away back in 2010, at the age of 87.
