Ewan McGregor is set to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the next installment of the Star Wars series.

According to LatinoReview.com a source has confirmed that Ewan McGregor will play Obi-Wan Kenobi as a force ghost in Episode VII. Kenobi was one of the only characters to appear in every single movie throughout the series, despite being killed in A New Hope. McGregor's reps have not yet commented on the matter.

When asked if he would return as Obi-Wan, McGregor told DigitalSpy.com last year, “I guess, yeah, of course. If they need me, yeah, I’d be happy [to go back].”

HuffingtonPost reports that Ian McDiarmid is also returning to portray villain Emperor Palpatine. McGregor and McDiarmid could join the likes of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and composer John Williams as Star Wars veterans expected to head back to the series if the reports turn out to be true.

Episode VII is due in theaters summer 2015.
