Actress Famke Janssen reportedly called police after she arrived at her New York City apartment to find a creepy children’s book near her bed. She believes an intruder entered the apartment and left the book there.
According to law enforcement sources for both TMZ and the New York Daily News, Janssen told police that when she got home this weekend, she say a copy of The Lonely Doll on a shelf near her bed. She did not own a copy of the creepy children’s book, which features dolls that decide to never leave each other. Even the cover of the book, with a black and white image of a doll, is creepy.
Janssen said that no one has access to the apartment but her and she can’t recall ever owning the book. But police found no signs of a forced entry. However, police will investigate the incident as a burglary and will look at surveillance footage.
Janssen did not comment on the situation.
The Lonely Doll was written by Dare Wright and first published in 1957.
As for Janssen, she recently reprised the role of Jean Grey in The Wolverine. She’s also appeared in Hemlcok Grove and Nip/Tuck.
