Famke Janssen arrived home at her New York City apartment to find a children’s book placed by her bed. The creepy event is being investigated by authorities as a break-in.
According to The Associated Press, Famke, 47, informed police that she realized her apartment had been broken into after seeing The Lonely Dolls, a book which she does not own, placed on a shelf by her bed.
Janssen told authorities that she is the only person who has access to her home, though police say that nothing was taken from or broken in the home.
The Lonely Doll tells the story of a doll who lives in a nice home with nice things, but what she is lacking is friends to play with. The story goes on to find two bears waiting in a garden in the hopes to play with the doll and promise to always be her friend.
Janssen previously filed harassment charges against a fan in 2005, New York Daily News reports. The X-Men actress received numerous obsessive letters, cards, and photos from the fan at the time. Daily News notes that investigators are checking in to see if the incidents are related.
