Madonna landed at the top of Forbes’ latest celebrity ranking, this list about top-earning celebrities, as she reportedly earned about $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013.
The “Material Girl” singer is atop the list thanks to her concert touring, corporate investments, perfume and other merchandise, TIME reports. Her $125 million earnings easily put her above everyone else.
Second place went to director Steven Spielberg, who earned $100 million. There was a three-way tie for third between Simon Cowell, E.L. James and Howard Stern who took in $95 million apiece.
Others who landed in the top 10 are James Patterson, Glenn Beck, Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer and Lady Gaga.
The Telegraph notes that Madonna’s MDNA tour grossed $305 million, which was the main force behind her earnings.
“Madonna’s success, at age 55, just goes to show the incredible power of a successful music career,” Dorothy Pomerantz, a Forbes reporter, said.
TIME also points out that, though the publishing industry isn’t doing so hot, three authors certainly did well, making $90 million or more last year.
