New details about the life of the late Gia Allemand, a former Bachelor contestant, are coming to light. The 29-year-old former model suffered with depression and relationship problems with her boyfriend, NBA star Ryan Anderson before apparently taking her own life.

Friends of the reality star are coming forward to say she was depressed before committing suicide. Anderson found Allemand hanging in her home Monday night and she was quickly rushed to the hospital and put on life support until her death on Wednesday.

"Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile," Anderson said after her death, NY Post reports. "She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed."

He added, "I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared,” Us Weekly reports.

One friend told the Post about her suicide, "I'm not that shocked, because of her ups and downs. She fell victim to her own perfection and they were having problems."

She was also known to abuse prescription drugs, with the friend saying that’s “the first thing everyone thought" when she was in the hospital.
