Former Bachelor star Gia Allemand tragically took her own life and passed away on Wednesday of last week, and this past Saturday, her loved ones mourned their loss at a memorial service in New Orleans.

Allemand, who died at the age of 29 by hanging, was remembered in New Orleans beside the banks of the Mississippi River. The service was organized by her co-workers at Pure Barre gym, where she was a fitness instructor. Those who attended wore white ribbons in her honor and threw white flowers into the river for her.

According to E! Online a wake will take place on Wednesday, at Papavero Funeral Home in Maspeth, N.Y. and her funeral will follow the next day at Trinity Grace Church of Chelsea in NYC.

Last week, Allemand’s mother, Donna Micheletti, released a statement that refuted any claims put out in the media by supposed friends of Allemand’s. She specifically cited Loredana Ferriolo, who she says her daughter “did not trust.”

There were reports Allemand was depressed and had a rocky relationship with her NBA star boyfriend Ryan Anderson before her death.
