Gia Allemand’s mother has broken her silence on her daughter’s apparent suicide.

Donna Micheletti, mother of former The Bachelor contestant, issued an official statement on Friday about her daughter’s death and the publicity surrounding it. According to People Magazine, Micheletti said,

"As her mother, I am well aware of Gia's close friends and her best friends, and I am personally going on record to refute all statements to the media out there thus far with the exception of official statements we have released through publicist Penelope Jean Hayes, and those jointly with Ryan Anderson’s NBA team representation.”

Micheletti went on to explain how there were some people that were claiming to be close to her deceased daughter, probably hoping for five minutes of fame. While Micheletti was discreet about these people she did name Loredana Ferriolo (Playboy), claiming that Gia claimed she didn’t trust Ferriolo.

Micheletti then explains, "After the funeral, I do intend to speak about my dear daughter's life and death, and will do so in an open disclosure way with a trusted media source. Thank you for all those truly concerned and God bless."

It was reported that Gia hung herself on August 14th. She was rushed to the hospital where she stayed on life support for two days. Due to critical loss of brain and organ functions, Gia was taken off of life support and died with her mother, boyfriend and friends by her side.
