The girls are out having dinner to discuss Melanie and Alec’s break up, and trying to find ways to be mean to her so that she can have a good cry, because she hasn't had one since they broke up. When the rest of the girls go home, Melanie goes to sit down at the bar, and runs into a man (played by Tom Arnold) and starts crying because she can't find a peanut inside of a shell. He offers to talk to her, and she says yes and that talking is the only thing that she will ever do because she doesn't want to be around another man again ever. They end up in bed together and he wakes up and calls her peanut. She starts to panic because she is concerned that she ate all of the candy bars in her bed and he tells her no, that he did. They start talking and he tells her they didn't sleep together, that they only cuddled. They then notice what time it is and panic because they realize that they are late for appointments, and he realizes that his appointment is at Melanie's house with Victoria
He runs down the back stairs so that no one will see him, except he runs into Elka who is putting alcohol in her cereal. They both agree to keep each other’s secrets. He runs around to the front of the house and rings the bell; Victoria lets him in and introduces him to Joy. His name is Danny Doyle, and he is a lawyer that can get Emmett out of jail. Melanie comes into the living room on her way out and pretends like she doesn’t know Danny, and Victoria introduces them. When Victoria leaves the room, Danny tells Melanie he wants to see her again, and that he thought she was a prostitute, she turns him down and leaves. When Victoria comes to pay him he tells her that he doesn't want cash, he wants to date Melanie. Victoria goes back into the kitchen to find Melanie, and doesn’t see her. She asks Elka where Melanie went and a drunken Elka says she went to the doctor. Victoria comes back into the living room and tells Danny that Melanie will go on a date with him and it will be tomorrow and she will cook dinner for him at the house.

Later that day Elka and Joy are having a hard time in their film class trying to figure out a good project to do because the teacher only gives out one A during the semester. Elsewhere Melanie goes in for her annual physical and drops a uterus diagram on the floor, bends over to pick it up, rips her gown in the back and that's when the doctor walks in.
The next night Joy is in the kitchen making a movie featuring Elka telling a story about Nazi's breaking into her home in Poland and separating her family. At this point Melanie runs in and says she is going on a date with her gynecologist. Victoria comes in and says that she is setting up Melanie on a practice date with Danny to get her prepped for her date with her gynecologist. Melanie objects but says that she will go out with Danny to help Emmett

When the doorbell rings, Melanie thinks it’s Danny and runs upstairs. Elka opens the door and its Dr. Everett who has shown up as Melanie is about to start her date with Danny. He asks Elka if Melanie is available, Elka says she’s not free but Melanie, thinking its Danny, yells down the stairs that she will be right down. At this point Danny shows up with flowers and wonders who Dr. Everett is, and Elka says that he's there to examine Joy. Melanie walks Joy and the Doctor into the kitchen and Joy says Melanie’s only on a date with Danny to get him to bribe a judge. Dr. Everett dumps Melanie, and Danny figures out what is going on. Victoria tells the truth and Danny says that Emmet’s judge can't be bribed. At this point Victoria throws Danny out.

In the end Victoria learns that Emmett will be out in less than 2 years, and tells Melanie to go see Dr. Everett since he is not responding to her texts. Melanie makes an appointment to see him and she shows up with a new uterus model as a gift they make a new lunch date. In the film class, Elka is the one who gets an A for her film project called “Man Hands” detailing the scariest thing she has ever experienced, more scary than the Nazi’s and the war. The “Man Hands” are Joy’s hands.
