An intruder camped out in the pool house at Jennifer Lopez’s Hamptons estate while she was away for the week.
After he had hidden in the pool house for a week, workers discovered the 49-year-old man on August 8 and immediately called the police, according to Billboard.
The Southhampton police said that the man, John Dubis, had known Lopez previously. She had a restraining order against him before the invasion incident, although the police didn’t reveal why.
Dubis was arrested for burglary, criminal attempt, stalking, and possession of burglar tools, according to Newsday. He will be tried in court on August 28.
Lopez’s house, which sits on three acres, has eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a theater, sauna, pool, and pool house. Lopez bought the house in May for $10 million.
Lopez, now 44 years old, had gained success in her own musical career before becoming an American Idol judge.
Lopez’s publicist has not commented on the Dubis’s intrusion into Lopez’s home.
