It’s a boy, for Fergie and Josh Duhamel

Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel officially welcomed new son Axl Jack on Thursday.

A rep confirmed to People that the couple had given birth and their newborn son weighs 7 pounds, 10 ounces.

It was reported earlier on Thursday that the couple had arrived at a Los Angeles hospital for a scheduled C-section.

TMZ had reported that the 38-year-old new mother will be recovering in one of the hospital’s V.I.P. suites, where other celebrities have stayed before – celebrities such as Dwight Howard and Kim Kardashian.

TMZ is also claiming that the couple named their child after Guns ‘N Roses singer Axl Rose.

People notes that while the couple has been fairly public about the impending birth, they managed to keep their son’s name a secret until after his birth. They had tried to keep the baby’s gender a secret, but the Transformers actor couldn’t help but blab on LIVE with Kelly and Michael where he showed off a blue onesie.
