Josh Duhamel and Fergie welcomed their first child on Thursday.
People Magazine reports that the baby weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. The baby boy is named Axl Jack Duhamel. The pregnancy was first announced on Twitter, and Duhamel shared his happy disbelief after his wife's ultrasound in February. “It’s very exciting … [It's] unlike anything you’ve ever seen. You’re like, ‘Wow, it’s mine," he said at the time.
Fergie was showered twice while she was expecting! Previously, she joked that Duhamel wanted to have a baby together after their first date. In April, she spoke of what a good father her husband would be, saying, "He’s going to be an amazing father. He’s got natural parenting instincts." Hopefully, she's not sick of gifts because her husband mentioned that he is planning on getting her a push present.
ABC News reports that Fergie suffered from morning sickness early on in her pregnancy but talked about how excited she was to meet her child. She said, "We're thrilled and so excited. It's true when that moment occurs to you that, yeah, there's going to be a human being growing inside of you. It's reality. It's amazing.
The couple may have tried to keep the gender of the baby under wraps, but the effort was in vain after an appearance on LIVE! with Kelly and Michael during which Duhamel picked out a blue onesie. On the other hand, they were able to keep the name they had picked out for their little one a secret. Duhamel mentioned that he and his wife are not concerned whether people like the name or not, saying, "Some people may not like it, some people may think it’s really cool, but we don’t really care — that’s why we’re not telling anybody."
