Jennifer Hudson got to know Simon Cowell on her season of American Idol, during which he was a judge and she was a contestant. Now the mother of 3-year-old David Jr. is switching roles with the Brit and giving him advice about his impending fatherhood.
News broke yesterday that Cowell is expecting his first child with NYC socialite – and his friend’s wife -- Lauren Silverman.
While Hudson was at the 2013 Do Something Awards in Hollywood, she was asked about Cowell and she told E! News, “You're the third person who's said that to me today, and it still has not sunk in.”
She added, "Congratulations to Simon—I'm sure he's going to be an amazing father. Go easy, don't treat him like the American Idol kids. Be nice to him OK, Simon? Jeez!"
Hudson also had some fun with it, imitating the X Factor creator by saying “Imagine him as a dad? Dahling, what are you crying for?"
