Jennifer Lopez is nearing a reported $15 million deal with Fox’s American Idol , which will mark her return to the judging panel.
Lopez, who previously judged the singing competition back in 2011, is reportedly signing back on for $5 million less than what she made in season 11, Irish Examiner reports. Lopez is said to be in the midst of signing at $15 million deal, coming in just behind Mariah Carey’s $20 million deal.
Lopez potential return was reported last week when sources reported that she was “very close” to signing a deal.
Sources are telling Radar Online that Lopez’s decision to return as judge is in part because her twins, Max and Emme, will begin school this year. Lopez helps to land a stable job in L.A. where her twins will attend kindergarten.
Lopez will sit alongside season 13 confirmed judge Keith Urban. Urban was the only judge from last season asked to return, although reports suggest that producers may try to get Randy Jackson to return once again despite his decision to leave.
