Jennifer Lopez is reportedly close to signing another contract to judge American Idol this upcoming season. Now that she doesn’t have any tour commitments, the fan favorite could be back on Fox.
A source close to Lopez, who was a co-judge with Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, says she really wants the deal to work out.
"She couldn't return last year because she had committed to a world tour,” a source told People. “But now that the tour is over, she has more time to raise her family, do movies and pursue television projects."
The insider added she’s "very close to signing a deal” with the network and "Both Fox and Jennifer are very happy about this and want it to happen very much.”
As for other reports that she was turned away from both performing and judging NBC’s The Voice, a source said “Jennifer never had discussions with NBC about being a judge. She was approached by NBC about performing but had to turn it down because of scheduling conflicts."
The Hollywood Gossip reports Idol will be experiencing a major shake up next season, with executive producer Nigel Lythgoe out, as well as Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and veteran judge Randy Jackson.

Keith Urban might be returning with Lopez. There have also been rumors alumni such as Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson or Jennifer Hudson could sign on.
