A judge has approved doctors’ requests to keep Amanda Bynes under their care in a mental health facility on a long-term basis. That means that she could spend up to a year under their care.
According to sources for TMZ, Bynes’ doctors asked the judge for the long-term hold and the request was approved. They then gave Bynes mother control of the hold. She was granted temporary conservatorship earlier this month.
TMZ notes that chances are Bynes will not spend an entire year under the hold. Doctors plan to keep her for another 60 days and then transfer her care over to her mother.
Doctors got another 30-day hold approved on Aug. 8. Just days later, it was reported that she was being transferred to UCLA Medical Center, but Bynes was not transferred there until Friday.
Meanwhile, publicist Jonathan Jaxson claimed to still be representing Bynes and sent a lengthy statement to Entertainment Tonight. But Tamar Armanak, her attorney, told E! News that Jaxson does not represent Bynes.
“Jonathan Jaxson does not represent the Bynes family or Amanda,” Armanak told E!. “We are not sure why he is commenting on Amanda's health care or representing himself as a publicist hired by her family. Amanda's family continues to be devoted to their daughter's well being.”
Armanak also refuted the reports that she was moved to UCLA earlier this month. “Up until today, Amanda has been at Hillmont [Psychiatric Center in Ventura, Calif.] and not at UCLA Medical Center,” the attorney stated.
