Kanye West reacted to comments made by President Barrack Obama earlier this year saying that he is “happy” that the “president mentions me so often.”
West appeared on Kim Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, show last week where he discussed the frequency that the president has mentioned him and his reality star girlfriend, The Associated Press reports.
“So, Obama basically said we’re the new American dream. I think he was posing it like I was supposed to take it in a negative way, but I just feel like happy that the president mentions me so often,” West explained sarcastically. “Thank you very much, Obama.”
According to the AP, West was responding the comments Obama made months ago which included, “Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success,”
Obama also called West a “jackass” for his 2009 MTV interruption of Taylor Swift.
Eurweb reports that Jenner also defended West and Kardashian following Obama’s comments saying that her daughter is one of the hardest workers “in the world” and noting that West “never goes on vacation.”
