Kanye West discussed the Taylor Swift incident from the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards with Kris Jenner on Kris, which airs today, saying he would never want that to happen to his own daughter.
The Yeezus rapper referred to himself as a “crazy rock star” at that time, and said now that he has a daughter – North West, 2 months, with girlfriend Kim Kardashian – it puts the incident in a whole new perspective.
"The last thing I would want to happen to my daughter is some crazy drunk black guy in a leather shirt to come up and cut her off at an awards show," he explained, Us Weekly reports. "That's the last thing I'd want.”
Also on the show, West referred to Kardashian as “my joy” and said she “brought my new joy into the world."
While promoting the interview on the Today show yesterday via phone call, Jenner said viewers “will be super surprised to see this other side of Kanye West ."
