Kate Middleton and her newborn prince have made the trek to Anglesey, Wales. There, the other prince in her life, Prince William, has been on-duty as an RAF search-and-rescue helicopter pilot.
People Magazine reports that newborn Prince George of Cambridge made the 270 mile trip from Bucklebury to Anglesey last week. His mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied him, as did his grandmother, Carole Middleton. Prior to Anglesey, he lived for about three weeks at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.
Hello Magazine reports that Carole and Michael Middleton were the first people to visit the Duke and Duchess in the hospital and meet their newborn. Prince George was born on July 22 in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London.
Last Wednesday, Prince William told locals that he and his wife had never known anywhere as "beautiful and welcoming" as Anglesey. The feeling is mutual, apparently, as Anglesey residents take delight in the high-profile presence of the royal couple. A community worker, Jean Owen, said, "I would love to see them – and to even catch a glimpse of them with a pram would be breathtaking."
Prince William also remarked on why he and his wife think so fondly of Anglesey. "I know that both of us will miss it terribly when my search and rescue tour of duty comes to an end next month and we have to move elsewhere...This island had been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for us both," he said.
