Kate Middleton will go back to royal duties on September 12 after having been on maternity leave since the July 22 birth of her son, Prince George of Cambridge.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to attend the inaugural Tusk Conservation Awards on that date, The Daily Mail reports. The awards dinner is being held by the Tusk Trust. Prince William is a patron of this charity, which funds African conservation projects.

A Kensington Palace spokesman told the Daily Mail, "It is a long standing engagement," when confirming that the royal couple would attend the event. One of the awards being given at the event is named after Prince William, People Magazine reports. That award is for lifetime achievement. There is also a possibility that Kate will join Prince William at an event on Anglesey in late September before the couple move out of the four-bedroom farmhouse they live in there.

William is said to be passionate about the organization's work and has visited many of their projects in Africa. Recently, he spoke to CNN about his love of Africa and his dream of saving the world's most endangered species.
