A couple of weeks ago, the world caught wind of ‘Control’ which was a song Big Sean leaked prior to the release of his new album Hall of Fame. The track featured Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica and unfortunately didn’t make the cut for the album. According to FreeOnSmash in his interview with Revolt TV, Big Sean spoke on trying to get ‘Control’ on the digital version of Hall of Fame as it couldn’t make the physical album due to sample clearances.

What made the song so controversial is Kendrick Lamar’s verse as a whole. The MC had a great verse as a whole but it was striking because he called him self the “King of New York” and name-dropped celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, former coach Phil Jackson and 11 of his fellow Hip Hop counterparts.

“I’m usually homeboys with the same nxxxxx I’m rhyming’ with/But this is hip hop and them nxxxxx should know what time it is/And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron’, Tyler, Mac Miller/I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you nxxxxx.”

Everyone and their mothers had something to say about this verse except for Kendrick himself. XXLmag reports that the rapper will speak on his verse for the first time in a full interview with Big Boy’s neighborhood tomorrow. He will also appear on Hot 97 with Peter Rosenberg.

Kendrick says “Honestly I don’t know there would be so much speculation behind it, I just wanted to rap.” Until the full interview drops tomorrow, with Power 106 you can hear a snippet of his interview with Big Boy’s neighborhood below.
