Oscar-nominee Kenneth Branagh is set to make his New York stage debut in June 2014 in William Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Shakespeare was one of Branagh's claims to fame as it helped Branagh start his successful career when he starred in the 1989 film Henry V. And now he is returning, this time taking to the stage.
The British actor and director will present his version of Shakespeare's masterpiece at the Park Avenue Armory. Alex Kingston will star alongside Branagh as Lady Macbeth.
USA Today reports that Branagh is excited for his next project. He claims that "the possibilities of the vast open space" make for "a truly exciting prospect. I am delighted that we have the chance to recreate Macbeth in this epic setting."
Although Macbeth is considered a cursed play, Branagh's impressive writing, directing and acting skills are sure to bring the production to success.
According to Yahoo! Movies , Park Avenue Armory will hold additional casting and performance tryouts in the upcoming months.
