New parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took their daughter North out once again, this time to travel to Oklahoma for a family funeral.
West’s grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., died August 10, People reports. He was 98-years-old.
A source tells People that due to the funeral, Kardashian and West were not able to attend the reality starlet little sister’s 16th birthday bash. “That's why they weren't at [sister] Kylie's birthday,” the source explains. “They brought North, too. Her first trip."
Kardashian had the opportunity to meet West’s grandfather earlier this year. Following their visit Williams gushed about Kardashian according to New York Daily News, saying, “She is beautiful — and she’s just as sweet as she is beautiful — and that’s what I liked about her!”
“She was just down to earth, she’s rich, and those kinds of people, they’ve got everything,” he recalled at the time of their meeting.
People notes that Kardashian sent rapper Drake and Big Sean to Kylie’s Alice in Wonderland themed birthday bash in their absence.
