Kristen Bell may have been expecting morning sickness and food cravings, but pregnancy had another effect on her.
Yahoo! reports that the House of Lies star recently revealed that while she was expecting, her voice changed. "The pregnancy did change my voice. It made it deeper." Apparently, it was hard to discern the change in-person but in the recording booth, it was a different story.
The difference was so noticeable that Bell had to re-record the audio for lines in her upcoming film Anna that she originally recorded while pregnant, People Magazine reported. Bell says, “There were more womanly tones when I did one recording while I was extremely pregnant. After I had the baby, I had to go back and re-record those lines so they matched. There was something different about my voice.”
Bell theorized that the hormonal changes that accompany pregnancy may have been the culprit. “There was something more ‘Mommy’ about my voice and we had to fix it. I certainly didn’t intend that, and when you heard it, you couldn’t really place why it was different but it was. It was one of those hormonal things that happen, I guess.”
Inconveniences in her acting career aside, Bell is ecstatic about motherhood. Her daughter, Lincoln, was born in March. “It is amazing to see [Dax Shepard] with her. To have something alive that is part of both of us is a really lovely feeling,” she said at the D23 Expo in Anaheim last Friday.
