Lamar Odom, NBA player and husband of Khloe Kardashian Odom, was arrested early Friday morning in the San Fernando Valley for driving under the influence. He refused to submit to chemical testing at the police station, and as a result, his license will be taken away for one year.
According to the LA Times, Odom was seen driving only 50 mph on the 101 Freeway. The California Highway Patrol pulled Odom over because he was driving in a "serpentine manner." The CHP report also states that Odom was unable to pass field sobriety tests as requested, so he was taken to LAPD Van Nuys Jail. Once there, he refused to take a chemical test, which automatically results in a one-year license suspension.
Odom was released from jail at 8:33 am on Friday morning, after posting $15,000 bail, according to USA Today. He will appear in Van Nuys Municipal Court on September 27.
Odom played last season for the Los Angeles Clippers, but is now a free agent.
He seems to have avoided drug problems since his suspensions in 2001 for violating the NBA's drug policy. However, in recent weeks, Odom has received significant media attention for alleged drug abuse.
