'Glee' star Lea Michele was awarded Choice TV Actress in a Comedy Sunday at the Teen Choice Awards, her first public appearance since Corey Monteith's death, and dedicated the award to the late actor and fellow 'Glee' cast member.

The two were a real world couple and genuinely in love, until Cory's long term struggle with drug addiction took his life at only 31 years old.

At the awards show, Lea took the stage to accept her award and gave a tearful yet heartwarming speech honoring Monteith. "I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these very past difficult few weeks," she told the audience, says the LA Times.

The actress sported a necklace that read 'Cory' to the ceremony, which was held in the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

Monteith's other cast mates had a few words to say that night, as well. Amber Riley said "Cory was like a brother to us, he was always ready to sign an autograph or take a picture with a fan, and he loves you Gleeks." Jenna Ushkowitz also spoke up, saying "we know that Cory would have wanted us to dedicate this award to you guys," says CBS news.
