Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige has reportedly not been seen for six years, so former Scientologist Leah Remini decided to take action.
The former King of Queens star filed a missing person’s report with the Los Angeles Police Department, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The wife of Scientology leader Miscavige was supposedly transferred a secret Scientology compound near Lake Arrowhead, Calif. in 2006, around the time when Remini began to question the church and its leader.
She had wondered where Miscavige’s wife was during Tom Cruise’s wedding to Katie Holmes and was reportedly told, “You don’t f***king rank to ask about Shelly.”
RadarOnline, who broke the story, reports that a LAPD spokesperson said, “Our missing persons unit informed us that Leah Remini did file a missing person report on Shelly Miscavige.”
RadarOnline reports that the Church released a statement saying, “Mrs. Miscavige is a private person and her affairs are a private matter. She continues to work in the Church as she always has.”
Last month Remini broke from Scientology after disagreeing with leader Miscavige, as previously reported. A source claimed at the time, “It all began when Leah questioned the validity of excommunication of people.” They continued, “She is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt.”
Remini is currently planning on writing a memoir talking about her “experiences, everything that’s taboo to talk about,” notes THR.
