Lee Thompson Young, known for his roles in Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson and Rizzoli and Isles has died. He was 29-years-old.
Sources tell TMZ that Young’s body was found with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A member of the staff was sent to Young’s home after he did not appear on the set of the TNT series this morning, his body was found then. His publicist has confirmed that the actor committed suicide telling TMZ, "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning ... Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed."
Young’s credits include Scrubs, Flash Forward, Friday Night Lights, The Good Guys, Just an American, Akeelah and the Bee, South Beach and many, many others.
Young held a reoccurring role on the hit TNT series from 2010-2013.
