Lifetime’s Devious Maids has been renewed for a second season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series based on Latina maids and their bosses has been given a 13 episode order for 2014. Devious Maids is noted as Lifetime’s fastest-growing drama.
"One of the most daring series on television, Devious Maids has quickly become a hit," Lifetime exec vp and GM Rob Sharenow said of the show.
The Marc Cherry created drama stars Dania Ramirez, Judy Reyes, Grant Show, Ana Ortiz, Mariana Klaveno and Roselyn Sanchez.
Devious Maids, which is inspired from the Spanish telenovela Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar, originally debuted on ABC but was quickly handed over to Lifetime. Since its transition, Devious Maids has boosted the network’s Latin ratings by 18%.
"ABC Studios has had a great partnership with Lifetime and Televisa, and we're looking forward to another terrific season with Marc Cherry and his talented cast and crew," Stephanie Leifer, senior vp current programming at ABC Studios explained.
