Marg Helgenberger is returning to the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation team for the hit show’s 300th episode.
CBS confirmed the news, which was first reported by TV Line earlier today. In a statement, CBS confirmed that Helgenberger will return to the Las Vegas CSI team when a former casino mogul is linked to a homicide that reminds the team of an unsolved 2000 murder. She’ll play Catherine Willows once again to help the team solve the crime.
“We were just really excited to have Marg come back because, obviously, she’s such an important part of the history of CSI,” executive producer Don McGill told TV Line. “And she was super excited. It was kismet!”
The current cast of CSI includes Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads, Paul Guilfoyle, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, David Berman, Wallace Langham, Jorja Fox, Elisabeth Harnois and Jon Wellner.
After the news was confirmed, Helgenberger tweeted a picture of herself with the cast. “Very excited to see my pals @CSI_CBS for the 300th!” she wrote.
