Marg Helgenberger, who played Catherine Willows on CBS’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for 12 years, is set to return to the series in celebration of its 300th episode.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS announced Helgenberger’s return Tuesday. The 54-year-old actress will reprise her role as Willows, and will return to help her former team solve a cold case 13 years later.
The case involves a famous casino mogul, whose home the murder took place in. THR notes that the group will remember back to where they were back when the infamous case occurred.
The official press release states that the episode feature Helgenberger will air on Wednesday, Oct. 23, Newsday reports.
Since leaving the long-running drama series, Helgenberger has landed a role in Intelligence alongside Josh Holloway and Meghan Ory.
Helgenberger isn’t the only regular to depart the series, William Peterson, who played Gil Grison, left CSI after nine years. Ted Danson and Lawrence Fishburne have since been added to the cast.
