Actor James Spader has just been picked by Marvel and Disney to voice Ultron, the villain in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The studio made the announcement this morning. Spader is an emmy winning actor, winning in 2007 for Boston Legal. He played Alan Shore first on The Practice and reprised the role on Boston Legal. He also recently appeared on The Office.

Spader will next be seen in NBC’s The Blacklist, which will air after The Voice on Mondays starting on Sept. 23.

The actor has also appeared in films, most recently taking a supporting role in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln.

Avengers 2 scored the Age of Ultron title at ComicCon last month. Writer/director Joss Whedon recently spoke to EW about Ultron, saying that he will have to change the character from the comics.

“As a character I love [Ultron] because he’s so pissed off,” Whedon commented.

Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015.

There are also reports that Elizabeth Olsen will star as the Scarlet Witch, but that was not confirmed by Marvel yet.
