Matt Bomer is praising Prison Break star Wentworth Miller for publically coming out as a gay man.
Bomer spoke with E! News at the New York Heineken U.S. Open kickoff party saying, "Wow, I think its really bold and incredibly classy how he came out and did it. I am really proud of him. Its very reflective of his amazing character."
Wentworth came out just days ago in a letter to declining an invitation to the St. Petersberg International Film Festival. In the letter to Maria Averbakh he explained his reasoning for declining the invitation saying, “As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes…However, as a gay man, I must decline.”
Bomer, an openly gay man as well, also noted the exciting changes in America regarding LBGT acceptance. "I hope all these laws continue to pass but we still have a long way to go."
Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen also declined an invitation to Russia following their ever-growing anti-gay laws.
