Suits is adding some Olympic-sized muscle to its third season.
Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps is set to appear in the USA network drama’s 2014 midseason premiere, according to Vulture.
Phelps won’t necessarily be flexing his acting chops, though. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Phelps will be playing himself during the cameo.
The midseason premiere features lawyers Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Scottie (Abigail Spencer) fighting over landing a high-profile sports client (Phelps), according to THR.
THR also notes that it was the swimmer’s enthusiastic tweets this past summer about the show (including one that said it was among his favorite shows) that first caught their attention and got negotiations for Phelps’ appearance underway.
Phelps has made cameos before, notably on Entourage and Saturday Night Live. He joins other Olympians-turned-actors, including Gabrielle Douglas, who appeared on The Vampire Diaries, and Ryan Lochte, who appeared on 90210, according to THR.
Suits is currently airing on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on USA, and will wrap up the first half of its season Sept. 17.
