The cause of Lisa Robin Kelly's death has been under speculation since she died Aug. 14, and now foul play is suspected.

The mystery of the That '70s Show actress' death is now under further investigation by both the L.A. County coroner and the L.A. county sheriff, reports TMZ.

According to law enforcement officials, the rehab facility where Kelly died never called the L.A. County coroner. Instead, the coroner discovered the news four hours after her death when someone in the office saw the news online.

The doctor at the rehab facility later reported to the coroner that Kelly died from an embolism. That sent a red flag up for the coroner, since there is no way to know if someone died of an embolism by looking at a body – an autopsy is needed. The coroner has neither confirmed nor denied the embolism yet.

The facility doctor claimed that drugs were involved, but that can't be confirmed until the toxicology report is in, which could be eight to ten weeks, according to CNN.

"Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years," Kelly's agent Craig Wyckoff reported. "I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her."

Suspicions continue, but the L.A. County sheriff is holding all further information on the case until investigations are over.
