Paula Deen saw her empire crumble before her eyes after a deposition she gave proved racist ideals along with her blatant use of the ‘n-word.’ However, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars has offered the down and out celebrity chef a spot on their reality competition, which she has since turned down.

A source tells Us Weekly that the former Food Network star turned down the opportunity saying, “The dance floor is not the appropriate forum for her.”

DWTS host Tom Bergeron expressed his disappointment in Deen’s decision to decline the offer saying that trying her hand at the dance floor may just be what she needs to get her career back on track. "We've seen career resurgences after the show," he explained to the magazine. "People go, 'I remember why I love that person!'"

The controversy surrounding Deen surfaced in June following the release of said deposition. Since, former coworkers of Deen’s have come forward alleging that she asked one of her cooks to dress up as Aunt Jemima as well as asking her African American coworkers to dress as slaves and cater her brother’s wedding.

Since she has seen her brand dropped from Sears, Kmart, Walmart, QVC, JcPenny’s and many, many others.
