Oscar winners and it-couple Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have named their new baby girl Luna Encinas Cruz.
The newest addition to their family has surnames from both parents, while her first name, Luna, means “moon.”
Luna was born in Madrid on July 22 and is Cruz’s and Bardem’s second child together; their son, Leonardo is now two years old, according to US Magazine.
Cruz and Bardem, who are both from Spain, began dating in 2007. They got married in July 2010 with a small family-only ceremony in the Bahamas, according to The Huffington Post.
The couple are loving their life together with their two children. Bardem told GQ, “I truly thank whoever’s up there for giving me the opportunity to be loved.”
Despite feeling blessed, the 39-year-old mother wants to keep both of her kids out of the limelight. “I want my son — and my kids if I have more – to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible,” she said. “The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy,” Cruz told Vogue in 2011.
