Scotland Yard officials are reviewing new information about Princess Diana’s tragic death in a car accident near the one-year anniversary of her death.

So far, officials have been very tight-lipped about the exact nature of the new information. The Press Association says that investigators may be researching new allegations that a member of the British military is responsible for Diana’s death, CNN reports.

The original investigation concluded that alcohol and reckless driving contributed to the accident. The results of that investigation can be viewed here .

Scotland Yard says that they will not be reopening the investigation, but they are simply trying to find out if these new allegations have any merit BBC reports.

“The assessment will be carried out by officers from the Specialist Crime and Operations Command," officials said in a statement to NBC News .

The news that Scotland Yard is looking at Diana’s death again has started a firestorm on Twitter.
