Duty calls Prince William again!

The Duke of Cambridge has been on maternity leave since his first child was born, but he is returning to military duty this week, according to E! Online. Supposedly, the Duke had already driven to his station in Anglesey, Wales over the weekend because his leave officially ended on August 5. His first shift, however, did not begin until August 7.

Prince William, 31, works for the military as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot but has been living with his wife, Kate Middleton, and his newborn son in Bucklebury at the Middleton family home. The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to remain in Bucklebury with the infant until she moves to Anmer Hall on Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge registered the birth of the new prince, noting their occupations as "Prince" and "Princess" and address as "Kensington Palace."

The Daily Beast noted that it is likely that the Royal Air Force pilot will be able to visit with his family on off-duty days and that Prince William is the first member of the royal family to have taken a paternity leave after the birth of a child.

Last weekend, Prince William made an appearance in Ascot at the Audi Polo Challenge, which was his first public appearance since the presentation of Prince George of Cambridge outside of St. Mary's Hospital. Prince Harry, his brother, was also at the event.
