Prince William and Kate Middleton have asked his former nanny, Jessie Webb, to come out of retirement in order to take care of their infant son, George.

Webb is said to have protected William and Harry during their parents' tumultuous marriage, the Huffington Post reported. During screaming matches between Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, Jessie would remove Prince William from the scene so that he wouldn't have to watch his mother cry uncontrollably. Now 71, Webb never married or had children. She is apparently seriously considering taking up the job, although she is concerned about working full-time.

According to the Daily Mail, a former colleague said of Webb's approach to her job, "She would stand for no nonsense and would want to do things her way. You had to be tough because being a nanny at that time could be a very stressful job. Charles and Diana’s marriage was breaking down. But she tried her best to keep the boys away from the tears and the rows."

Prince Edward's wife, Sophie Wessex, has advised Kate that employing help is the way to go, as full-time royal duties and full-time parental duties will leave her exhausted. Prince William and Kate are very aware that she won't be able to do it all. The couple are eager to hire help because Kate might be opened up to criticism if she relies on her mother's help for too long.

Although Kate has remained at her family home in Bucklebury while Prince William has been called to duty with the RAF in Anglesey, he is in contact with his young family every day via videolink. The pilot is missing his family very much, but Kate will supposedly be joining him in Anglesey in a month.
