Princesses: Long Island has wrapped up its first season! Although most of us expected a finale full of screaming and name-calling, the season actually ended on a pleasant note as the princesses put their points of contention aside and made amends before the new year.

In the episode before the finale, Ashlee went missing near the vineyard after an altercation with Erica, Amanda, and Joey. In spite of the drama, Erica, Amanda, and Joey stuck to the plan and went out on the boat for a fun day in the sun. Chanel divulged that Ashlee went through a serious health scare last year, and she felt worried that history might repeat itself while Ashlee was missing. After hours of searching for Ashlee, Chanel finally got in touch with Ashlee’s family and found out she was in the hospital. According to Ashlee, she had a panic attack and had no choice but to hitchhike to a hospital where “they had to give me a Benadryl.” Ashlee blamed her unfortunate series of events on Erica, Amanda, and Joey for “leaving her.” While having a panic attack is completely unfortunate, a 30-year-old woman shouldn’t need her friends to chase after her in order to maintain her own well being—c’mon Ashlee!

Casey was the only princess who skipped out on the trip to the vineyard, but that didn’t prevent her from getting the scoop! Casey asked Amanda to talk about what happened, but it seemed like more of an interrogation than a discussion. Casey immediately started questioning Amanda about her loyalty towards Ashlee and criticized her handling of the situation. Amanda explained to Casey that she didn’t know what happened to Ashlee until hours later, and wasn’t going to leave Erica’s dad waiting when plans were already set. Casey’s counterargument was that as a loyal friend to Ashlee, Amanda should’ve stuck by her side no matter what the circumstance was—even if it meant making Erica’s dad wait all day. Amanda explained that she is always going to defend whomever she thinks is right in each situation, not who she is the closest with.

Amanda had bigger things to worry about than her tiff with Casey anyway—Jeff was taking her out for a fun day in the city where a proposal looked very possible (or, at least in Bravo’s teaser of the finale it did.) Jeff didn’t end up whipping out an engagement ring—but he did give Amanda a promise ring symbolizing their commitment to each other. Although Amanda had her hopes up, she later admitted it was for the best. A rushed engagement with Jeff would’ve been a major no-no for Amanda’s mother Bab’s, and could’ve seriously compromised their relationship. Good choice Jeff!

With the New Year quickly approaching, Chanel decided it would be appropriate to ring in all the girls for a Jewish tradition known as ‘Tashlich’ to help them forgive and forget the past. According to Chanel, ‘Tashlich’ is about apologizing for what you’ve done wrong and forgiving those who have done wrong to you. Erica addressed Casey about their issues, Joey admitted to Ashlee that she wants to improve their relationship, and Ashlee confronted Amanda and Erica about not being there for her during her time of crisis. Believe it or not- this technique worked. No huge fights, no big screaming matches, and not much drama. The episode actually ended by them all hugging and making up.

So maybe the finale wasn’t quite as dramatic as we’d hoped for, but at least the princesses will have a clean slate to start on for a (possible) second season, right? There’s been no word yet from Bravo regarding a season 2, but the cast members have been encouraging fans to tweet #princessesseason2 at @BravoAndy and @BravoTV if they’d like to see a second season. So if you love princesses- start tweeting folks!
