Randy Travis’ condition has improved enough since he first checked in to leave the hospital early July, but he isn’t going home just yet.
Travis was discharged from Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital in Plano, Texas on Wednesday and was immediately moved to a physical therapy facility, hospital reps said according to TMZ.
As previously reported, Travis initially went to the hospital on July 7 for a viral heart infection. Unfortunately the troubles didn’t end there for Travis.
He suffered a stroke just a few days later while still in the hospital and doctors had to “relieve pressure on his brain.”
He would eventually wake after the surgery, but remained in critical condition.
In a statement Travis’ fiancée Mary Davis said, “Thanks to all the fans and friends for your continued prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery,” reports NBC News.
Doctors have said that it will likely take months of physical therapy before Travis recovers.
