Ryan Braun has been the center of attention in the world of Major League Baseball this week. On July 22 it was announced that he was going to be suspended for the rest of this season for his involvement with the Biogenesis scandal involving the now closed company that is being accused of supplying players with banned substances. Braun is one of several players who are being linked to this growing scandal, other notables’ names including Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees and Melky Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers.
MLB is reporting that Braun has been in contact with the owner of the Milwaukee Brewers, Mark Attanasio, and he has apologized several times. Attanasio stated that he has accepted Braun’s apology and he is willing to help Braun repair his damaged image in the media throughout the upcoming months. Braun has only made one statement to the media after his suspension was announced on Monday, saying that he is going to “keep quiet” until he feels that he is able to speak about the situation in depth.
Braun has left his teammates and general manger in a very tough position when asked questions about his situation, they are not sure what exactly he was accused of taking and other specific details relating to the incidents. CBSSports discussed the statement that Braun gave Monday afternoon when the suspension was first handed down; and mention how the statement seemed very “cryptic” and did not give any other details about the situation. Braun can now only accept that the 2013 season is over for him and must now focus on getting ready for the 2014 MLB season
