After the death of Glee’s heartthrob Cory Monteith, both cast and fans wondered how the show would handle the absence of his character.
According to an interview with Deadline, Ryan Murphy announced that Monteith’s character on the show, Finn Hudson, would not die from drug overdose on the show.
“At one point, we were going to have his character die after an accidental drug overdose — that was something we had considered. But we have decided that we’re not going to have him pass from that,” Ryan Murphy said.
He goes on to explain that as of right now they’re not giving out details on how Finn’s passing will occur on the show, but that the goodbye episode will be a “celebration of [Finn’s] life.”
According to Perez Hilton, the cast of Glee has been having a hard time returning to work after the loss of Monteith.
“There’s been tears on set. It’s been hard for a lot of people,” Ryan Murphy explained. “But the really difficult thing is coming. We start shooting the memorial episode this week."
