Sarah Jessica Parker was promoting her collaboration with Manolo Blahnik in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar when the conversation changed gears to marriage and home life with husband Matthew Broderick.
The Sex and the City star told the magazine that they are “devoted” to their family. The couple of 16 years come from “a different time and place,” she said.
“When [Matthew and I] were young people, all we ever wanted was to be good working actors,” she said. “We didn’t think of fame or money because, honestly, money was never part of the dream. It was to work in theater, to be around those people whose work I was in total awe of.”
Parker, 48, and Broderick, 51, have three children together; James Wilkie, 11, and twins Tabitha and Loretta, 4.
“I love Matthew Broderick. Call me crazy, but I love him,” she said, ABC News reports. ”We’re very devoted to our family and our lives. I love our life. I love that he’s the father of my children, and it’s because of him that there’s this whole other world that I love.”
She wouldn’t address the cheating rumors that plagued their marriage in 2008 but she did say, “When our marriage came up in conversation, it wouldn’t occur to us that we were obligated to respond to allegations or gossip,” saying “I never saw the trappings; nobody talked about being a celebrity.”
Parker's shoe collection with Manolo Blahnik will hit Nordstrom stores in February.
