Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke worked together on their upcoming film Getaway, and they each took away lessons from each other. While Gomez’s lesson from Hawke was mostly acting advice, Hawke learned something a little more fun from the “Come & Get It” singer – how to twerk.
Hawke proclaimed, however, during an interview with his co-star that “twerking” has been around forever, "The only thing that's new about that is the word!" He laughed, "People have been shaking their ass [forever]."
Gomez told E! News that Hawke didn’t even realize it, but he helped bring a certain “wisdom” to the set.
"More than anything I loved hearing his stories because he's been doing this for a while. So I was very wide-eyed when he would tell a lot of stories because it was interesting, and he doesn't realize when you speak," she said, turning towards him, "you use a lot of words of wisdom."
Cinema Blend notes the film centers on Hawke’s character having to go through a lot to save his wife, who was abducted. He’s ordered by a voice on his cell phone to drive around dangerously or his wife would be killed. Trough the journey he meets Gomez's bad girl character.
