Sharon Stone, who plays Linda Lovelace’s mom, Dorothy, in the upcoming film Lovelace, won the ultimate compliment when Dorothy’s real grandchildren said she did justice to their grandmother.

Lovelace director Rob Epstein explained the grandchildren’s overall reaction to the movie, “The thing most personally moving was, after seeing the film, Linda's daughter said that neither she nor her brother, Dominic, could read Linda's book - because it's so graphic and so disturbing - but now they could show this movie to their partners, so they could understand how important their mother was to them,” according to The Denver Channel.

They said that they loved Stone's role in particular as she was really able to capture their grandmother in her portrayal of Dorothy. Amanda Seyfried, who plays Linda Lovelace in the film, also thought Stone did a great job playing her mother. Seyfried admitted she was terrified her first day on set, but Stone made her feel more comfortable due to her “maternal energy.”

According to its IMDb page, Lovelace, which tells the story of a porn star who is abused by the industry before taking back control of her life, will be in theaters this coming Friday, August 9.
